Seal 4. Pale green horse – Death

Revelation 6:7-8 "When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth."

A better translation would be sickly, putrid or rotting horse. A zombie horse.

The Greek word is chloros from which we get chlorophyll or chlorine, and usually it's associated with what color? Green, a sort of yellow pale green. The word chloros appears several times in the New Testament in connection with grass or vegetation. Mark 6:39, Rev 8:7, 9:4

First thing to note here is that the verse doesn’t say a fourth of all people will be killed but that the aggressors control a fourth of the earth and kill an unmentioned number of people in that area. Another question is what exactly is earth? Is it the whole world as we know it or something more limited? The flood was over the “eretz”. The whole eretz of Egypt was stuck by plagues. In Daniel we read about a goat (Alexander the Great) conquering the whole eretz, but we all know Alexander’s empire wasn’t worldwide.. Same for Nebuchadnezzer who ruled the whole eretz. The Hebrew word eretz is often translated as earth but clearly it’s doesn’t mean the whole earth in most/all cases. During Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness satan took him to a high spot and offered Jesus’ to rule the whole earth He saw. Obviously it’s impossible look below the horizon and see the South. Pole for example.

Personally I think it's a much more limited area because the wars are of increasing size. First war starts at the 2 seal,

Second war starts as 6th trumpet. Third war (Armageddon) start at the 7th bowl. While I think the fourth of the world means fourth of the Mid East region the map shows islam currently spreads about a quarter of the whole earth.

Mahdi is the anti-Christ. Jizya is a tax paid by non muslims that allows them to follow their own religion.
